JOB SUMMARY

Under the overall direction of the Manager, the CV Tech I is responsible for the preparation of the patient and the conductof 12 and 15 lead electrocardiograms as well as non-invasive cardiac testing including Cardiac Stress Testing and HolterMonitoring. The CV Tech I is responsible for deliver of care consistent with the vision and values of the hospital and thestandards of relevant professional organizations. The CV Tech I complies with the Occupational Health and SafetyStandards for the hospital and is proactive in promoting a safe work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Able to work in a fast paced environment with little supervision
Ability to perform technical and non-technical duties in an efficient manner
Commitment to standards of excellence and the concept of accountability
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team approach and adhere to accepted standards of personal conduct
Demonstrated ability to communicate with patients and obtain relevant clinical information
General good health and a level of fitness appropriate for the demand of the position
French language skills an asset

EDUCATION/TRAINING

Current registration with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists or Cardiovascular CredentialingInternational, required
Successful completion of a course in EKG interpretation and other cardiac related programs or related sciences,required
3 – 5 years experience in cardiac diagnostics, preferred
Must be able to demonstrate skills in Electrocardiography, Holter Monitoring and Cardiac Stress Testing
